FAQ

What weapons are confirmed in Stygian: Outer Gods patch notes?
The Lovecraftian Days update (9 April 2026 Steam announcement) adds the Great Axe. The August 2025 content-update changelog adds the H&W Military Police Revolver. The Heretic’s Arsenal Pack Steam page lists paid DLC weapons Bone Axe and Kama plus a separate artifact.
Is the knife worth using in Stygian: Outer Gods?
One detailed Steam forum post calls the knife the worst weapon, useful mainly for quick back-stabs on dogs. The same post recommends graduating to sickle, one-handed axe, and eventually firearms—treat as single-source feel advice, not official balance.
Does Stygian: Outer Gods have a DLC saber?
The paid Heretic’s Arsenal Pack store text names Kama (curved one-handed blade) and Bone Axe—not a saber. Some players loosely call fast DLC blades “saber” in forum posts; the authoritative DLC labels are on Steam.
Why keep a gun if melee works?
In the Agata fight thread, the forum account FQ_Dom (who answers players as “we”; staff status not confirmed) writes that totems in the area can only be destroyed with ranged weapons. Even melee-focused runs usually keep a pistol or shotgun for those objects and for packs of dogs per community posts.

Stygian: Outer Gods expects you to stretch a small arsenal across Kingsport: slow, stamina-heavy melee for controlled kills, guns for emergencies, and ranged-only objectives such as Agata totems. This all-weapons overview lists every name we could trace to an official changelog or store page, plus common early-game weapons one veteran player described on Steam—without inventing a complete loot table.

What melee weapons appear in Stygian: Outer Gods?

Weapon Role (qualitative) Source
Knife One Steam forum post calls it the worst weapon, citing speed but poor damage; suggests back-stabs on dogs from behind. One forum post
Sickle Same post: similar to knife but slightly more damage; still early-game. One forum post
One-handed axe Same post: slower, more powerful; hit-then-block rhythm. An EA walkthrough notes finding an axe on a balcony early—location may differ in 1.0. One forum post, plus an EA walkthrough
Sledgehammer Same post: sold by the masked merchant, very slow, high damage, heavy stamina drain, poor vs groups; pairs with Heavy Strike trait in that poster’s experience. Lovecraftian Days notes reduced heavy-attack damage—EA tuning. Forum post; official patch note for the balance change
Great Axe Official Lovecraftian Days patch item—two-handed heavy option added with Crypt/Banshee content. Official patch notes
Bone Axe (DLC) Paid Heretic’s Arsenal Pack — two-handed; store text says more stamina, slightly faster swings than Great Axe. Official store page
Kama (DLC) Same DLC — curved one-handed blade; store text: moderately fast and deadly. Official store page

For trait synergy (Heavy Strike, Backstab), see character traits. For stamina and when not to fight, see beginner tips.

A curved blade in hand. The store page does not name the weapon, so this is not a confirmed match for any row in the table. Official Steam store screenshot, © Misterial Games / Fulqrum Publishing.

What firearms appear in Stygian: Outer Gods?

Weapon Role (qualitative) Source
Revolver Forum post: relatively easy to acquire; saved for dog packs or frontal charges. Distinct from the patch-added military revolver below. One forum post
H&W Military Police Revolver August 2025 content update (Steam announcement changelog, 15 Aug 2025). Official patch notes
Rifle Forum post lists rifle after revolver in progression. One forum post
Shotgun Forum post: personal favorite for power; another Agata thread mentions point-blank shotgun during stuns. Two forum threads
Submachine gun Forum post: much later acquisition; poster dislikes it personally—subjective. One forum post

Official store copy stresses every bullet counts; pairing guns with crafting for bandages and remedies matches Fulqrum’s survival framing.

How do paid DLC weapons differ?

The Heretic’s Arsenal Pack is optional paid DLC (Steam App 5404580). Store text includes:

  • Bone Axe — two-handed melee with higher stamina cost than Great Axe but faster swings (developer marketing copy, not in-game stats).
  • Kama — one-handed curved blade positioned as fast melee.

The same pack adds The Whisperer artifact (sanity vs detection tradeoff)—details on artifacts. DLC does not replace base-game progression; it expands sidegrade options for players who own the pack.

What weapons are still unverified?

This page does not claim a complete checklist of every blade or gun in 1.0. Missing unless future patches or multi-source lists appear:

  • Tommy gun / SMG proper name beyond the forum label “submachine gun”
  • Every vendor location and quest-locked firearms
  • 1.0-only weapons not repeated in launch changelogs yet

If a weapon is not in the table, we have no citable name for it on 2026-10-28.
